This is a Wintering survey for All beekeepers living in the Cowichan Area.  Results will be shown and archived on the Cowichan Beekeeper website.

Only include if you would like results emailed to you.

This is a survey for current members and those who are not members of the Cowichan Beekeepers. Please indicate whether you are a current member of the Cowichan Beekeepers.
If your hives are located in more than one area please describe how many hives are in each area in the questions following.
How many small (under 15 frames of bees) viable colonies of bees did you have in the spring/ summer at your maximum 2022? Please Type "0" if you did not have any.
How many larger colonies did you have (15 frames of bees) in the spring / summer at your maximum 2022? Please Type "0" if you did not have any.
How many hives did you sell?
How many total Colonies of bees did you have at the end of September 2022? Please Type "0" if you did not have any.
How many total colonies of Bees did you have at the end of March 2023? Please Type "0" if you did not have any.
Number of Colonies Lost 2022 March to 2023 March
Please list the main suspected reasons for hive losses in order (if known)(IE - 1. Mites, 2. Feeding sugar water too late, 3. Beekeeper error, 4. Wasps, etc)
How many years have you been practicing beekeeping as of March 2023? Please Type "0" if you did not have any experience.
Are you planning on purchasing colonies in 2023? If so, how many? Please type "0" if you are not planning on purchasing any.
Are you planning on producing colonies in 2023? If so, how many? Please type "0" if you are not planning on producing any colonies.
Comments: Please add any helpful comments about beekeeping survival rates, bee health or something that would help better describe your data
